"My paper collage is all about texture and rich color and created with some very unique handmade materials. I tore up a raw hemp linter and soaked it in a cochineal insect dye bath, and the longer it soaked, the richer the color became! I then added a natural cellulose adhesive to the dye bath to bond and cluster the hemp pieces. I made the background cream paper with pine needles and cotton. It is mounted on a cedar stained pine frame and concealed with a Plexiglass front to protect the materials."
